What quality do you value most in a friend?
The quality I value most in a friend is faithfulness. I want you to show up… even if you do it imperfectly.
Admittedly I’m not ALWAYS the greatest at this. I get busy. I lose track of time. Things happen.
But I want to be faithful and I’m getting better at it.
Before my wife was my wife she was my best friend. She came to this conclusion before I did.
One time she told me: “You have to stop acting like I’m going to go away. I’m not going to go away”
See I’ve been left before in my life. Most of it was entirely unintentional. But things happen.
The people I’m closest to are all people who wedged their way into my life and didn’t leave, refuse to leave, and are just pretty awesome that way.
Jesus is that way. Once you invite Him in to be your friend. Watch out. You will find Him everywhere. Because He is everywhere.
Do yourself a favor and learn not to run from this….this took me a while.
He is good… what He does is good.
He is the friend more faithful then a brother.
When he comes back in all His glory… He will be known as “Faithful and True”1
So may you invite this Faithful and True one into your life! Even when it doesn’t feel like He is there He is there. He is different then the religious picture of him… he shows up for broken people…. It’s what He does. It’s who He is.
He goes after you and after you hard.
We love you!
