Who do you spend the most time with?

I could choose to answer this question a series of different ways….

Who is with my ALL the time? Jesus. The one who is always there and has always been there for me.

Who do I spend the most time with physically… visibly…well that would be my wife. We literally sleep in the same bed and spend significant amounts of time together, especially since I work from home 75 percent of the time. We nerd together, date together, cuddle together, etc.

Barring the more obvious answers though… it’s probably Lizzie. Her designations are ClingOn 3, Goof 3, and Princess 2. She has become the defining characteristic of both ClingOn and Princess… and she certainly follows her brother and sister in terms of being a goof.

She gets many of these characteristics directly from her mother…. Makes sense. Until I was able to step away a moment ago she was literally using me as a security blanket.. which is fair because she doesn’t feel well.

My aim would be to spend more time with Jesus. The Lord of Time Himself. I’m still working on giving Him the attention He deserves… Everything is better when He is around… even when it circumstantially sucks.

In His presence… near Him:.. when my attention is on Him… I experience great joy, love, peace… and more.1

Sometimes all I do is turn my attention to Him… and I immediately feel a wash of joy and love. Sometimes all I have to do is make space in my mind for him and He invades my heart with all the same. While he also takes me to challenging places2… He goes with me… and that Joy comes with Him.
